Finally, after a week of international action and another one of regular domestic football we are at last back with some Champions League betting picks. For Tuesday’s games we have two solid picks to report on, these follow below.
Ajax v. Dortmund
Pick: Over 3.5 Goals @ 2.07 on Expekt.
The pride of Amsterdam hosts Dortmund during Tuesday evening and given how offensive both of these teams are, it’s hard not to look a little bit extra on over 3.5 goals. Dortmund playing away is usually a goal-guarantee, excluding the last away game against Mönchengladbach, they have not failed to score at least one goal away from home in roughly 1 year – pretty crazy.
Ajax are, as we know, a little bit like the Munich of the Netherlands. On a good day they can bang in five goals before halftime and given the fact that none of these teams really have nothing to lose (6 points clear of other teams) I predict that this game will be pretty free from nerves and completely open. I think we see something like a 2-2 here.
Sidepick: BTTS First Half
Why this Betting Pick:
- Both teams not great defensively
- Both teams fantastic in offense
- Ajax great at home, Dortmund great away
- Håland in form
- No nerves – both teams sit comfortably

Shakhtar v. Real Madrid
Pick: BTTS @ 1.73 on Expekt.
One of the best hometeams in Europe takes on the great Real Madrid in Ukraine during Tuesday evening and I do not see how both teams fail to score here. Shakhtar almost always scores at home, even if they failed last time out against Inter (0-0). With Benzema in the form of his life, Madrid surely gets at least one here.
Fun fact, in the CL 2020 group stage, the Ukrainian side actually beat Madrid both home and away, scoring five goals in the process. They scored three times away from home and repeating that will of course be impossible, but to see a 1-1 or 1-2 here seems very reasonable. Best pick of the night for sure.
Sidepick: Benzema To Score
Why this Betting Pick:
- Shakhtar are great at home
- Real Madrid concedes more under Ancelotti
- Shakhtar took 6/6 points from Madrid last CL
- Shakhtar scored FIVE goals last two against Madrid
