We at the RealGamblingGuy kick on with another round of weekend betting picks. This Saturday and Sunday we have a whole host of super interesting games to look forward to. The Milan-derby, the Manchester-derby and West Ham v. Liverpool are among the interesting games coming up – keep reading below to find the four weekend betting tips we like the most.
Saturday Picks
Man United v. Man. City: Manchester City To Win. Odds 1.72 @ Expekt
The early game in this Premier League round is a real banger – the Manchester derby. A struggling Man United takes on the fantastic Manchester City at Old Trafford and we think there is only one conclusion to how this game ends: a thrashing by the skyblue-side.
There is a strong possibility that manager Solskaer gets the sack if United lose here, especially since an international break is coming up and there will be time to replace the Norwegian. United have looked sort of clueless so far this season, with no free flowing football upfront and a terrible defense.
To add insult to injury, the Reds will struggle to play with their new back-five, because Lindelöf and Varane are out, leaving only the likes of Maguire, Bailly and Jones to deal with the feared attack of City. Even more worrying is that they only have 5 wins in 10 EPL games this season, something that could have been a lot worse if not Ronaldo had bailed them out on several occasions. Also, they have not had a hard schedule so far. Not good.
This is a derby and anything can happen of course, but we cannot see anything other than a City win here. Perhaps 0-2?
Sidepick: Man City –1.5. Odds 2.80 @ Expekt
Why this Betting Pick
- The away teams have fantastic stats in this derby
- City have a stronger squad
- City have looked way better than United so far
- Pogba/Varane/Lindelöf will be out
Crystal Palace v. Wolves: BTTS. Odds 1.88 @ Expekt
On paper, this game is not that interesting. But for everybody that has been following the journey of Palace and Wolves this season in the Premier League, they know we are most likely in for a banger here. Both the home team and the away team have looked really sharp in terms of scoring goals and creating chances so far, this trend will probably continue on Saturday.
Wolverhampton have scored 7 goals in their last 4 PL away games, while Palace have hit the BTTS line in three straight home games. None of the key offensive players are out for either team and even though the odds do not reflect this, we think we could see goals flow fairly freely here. Hopefully a 2-2 kind of game, but 1-1 is probably more likely. Best pick of the weekend in our humble opinion.
Sidepick: Benteke To Score. Odds 3.15 @ Expekt
Why this Betting Pick
- Both teams look great this year
- Loads of firepower upfront for both sides
- The odds is way too high
- Both teams create a lot of chances
Sunday Picks
Arsenal v. Watford: Arsenal –1.5. Odds 2.0 @ Expekt
A team that surprisingly has 9 straight without a defeat is Arsenal. They take on a struggling Watford under a new manager (Ranieri). Even though Watford got a real big win last outing against Everton, I think the winning train comes to a halt at the Emirates.
Arsenal have no key injuries, they have looked super impressive in their last two outings against way stronger sides than Watford, and their defense have looked incredible with new signings Ramsdale, Tomiyasu and White. We will go for the handicap here and it feels very comfortable. Something like a 3-0?
Sidepick: Smith-Rowe To Score. Odds 3.2 @ Expekt
Why this Betting Pick:
- Arsenal have a way better squad
- Arsenal undefeated in 9 straight
- 4 Straight home wins for Arsenal ag. Watford
- Arsenal have been on fire last two PL games
Milan v. Inter Milan: Inter Milan To Win. Odds 2.17 @ Expekt.com
On Sunday evening it is time for what is probably the biggest possible game in Italy: the Milan derby. The home team have started the season on fire, topping Serie A with a fantastic total of 31 points out of 33 (10-1-0). But, there are some big questions that need answering here if they are to extend their undefeated streak – primarily the small injury crisis they currently suffer.
Milan are missing 7 players here, with Rebic/Hernandez probably the worst ones. Inter Milan have 100% of their squad to pick from, barring Eriksen of course. But it is primarily the previous games between the two teams that look interesting, with Inter only losing once in the last 12 games against their rivals. Inter have beaten Milan 6 times from the last 7 H2H.
Inter really needs a win here to not lose ground to Napoli and Milan, they are in good form, usually beat Milan and have a way better squad. Serious value on an “away” win here when the odds are as high as it is. Most likely a 1-2 or a 1-3 result.
Sidepick: Over 3.5 Goals. Odds 2.75 @ Expekt.com
Why this Betting Pick:
- Inter’s squad is way better
- Head-to-head stats points towards Inter win
- Inter really needs 3 points here
- Not really an away game – they play on the same stadium
